Ben stared at his brother for a full minute before he said anything. He couldn't believe what he'd just heard.

"No! You promised, Bail! You said I could just be Ben still. What do you call walking around with you and an honor guard? Do you really think no one will figure it out? I'm not doing it!"

Ben nodded, walking to the door.

"I'll go find Ani."

"Change your top."

It's said quickly, but it needs to be said.

"You can grab one from my bunk." He had a bag, there'd be one in there that would do Ben.

Ben turns around and stares. This isn't even the worst shirt he's worn. He wouldn't want to wear it to a podrace but he's only going shopping.

"Why?"

"...Because we're on Naboo."

Naboo. Weird place when it comes to clothing.

[jedi_librettist]

That gets a blank look and continued staring.

"What's wrong with my shirt?"

[middleoftheforce]

Solo sighs. "Naboo's just... really picky."

[jedi_librettist]

Ben sighs and nods. "Fine. Since you're so worried about what they'll think."

He grabs the first shirt from Solo's bag he finds and leaves.

It wasn't that he was worried as such. He just knew that to give his twin the privacy he wanted, the other needed to blend in with the crowd more. Not that he'd accept that answer. He shook his head, and went about seeing what he could do to get rid of the honor guard he really didn't need.

Ben stalked off to the fresher to change his shirt. He folded his own carefully and laid it by the shower. Then he went to find Ani with a group of the other children.

Then he tracked his brother down again. "Bail? Shopping money?"

Solo looked up, having finally finished dealing with the honor guard and frowned.

"...You don't want me to come with you?"

Ben frowned slightly.

"But the honor guard?"

[middleoftheforce]

"I dealt with it."

Which is true.

[jedi_librettist]

"Then I guess we're ready."

[middleoftheforce]

Solo looked. "Where's the kid?"

[jedi_librettist]

"He's here. He's putting his shoes on."

Ben looked over his shoulder at the child. He turned and knelt down.

"Try that on your other foot."

Solo watched, still frowning a bit over that familiar Force signature. He was ... almost positive on it, but it wasn't something he was going to mention any time soon. Let them just get through the afternoon first.

Ben helped Ani get his shoes on and then stood. He shook his hair out of his face.

"Let's get this over with."

Solo nodded, standing straight, and gesturing for them both to follow him as he lead them down towards where he had been told the better market was on that day. It wasn't too far away from where he had landed the ship. Though, granted, being able to land on official government areas did tend to make it a bit easier to find where you'd parked.

"So what sort of stuff you looking for?"

Ben took Ani's hand and followed his brother. He looked around some as they went. By any standard, Theed was beautiful. He drank the sight in, trying to memorize it just in case he never got back to a planet like this again.

"I don't know." He shrugged. "Ani needs things. Whatever's normal for his age. Some kind of stuffed toy for him to sleep with."

"Maybe try to get a more solid idea?" Solo suggested. "Otherwise they'll try to convince you of stuff no one needs."

Ben stopped and stared at his brother. "I don't know anything about babies. I don't know what they need."

Solo looked down at the kid. Ani... did not look pleased to be looked at by him. "He's like ...2?"

[jedi_librettist]

Ben nodded. "He's practically a baby. I don't know what he needs at this age. Hell, I don't know what a kid needs, Bail!"

"Clothing, I guess," Solo shrugged. Maybe they should have kept a guard or two, they might have known what a kid needed.

Ben nodded. "Some toys. I remember that much. Didn't we have some kind of blocks?"
