Ben lost his fight with Luke and lost his hand in the process. He called Leia, still somewhat in shock. She came to get him. During their argument, Leia revealed Snoke's part in the Darkness Luke had sensed in Ben. He went back to live with his mother while Luke left to kill Snoke. He trained in the Force with the ghosts of Anakin and Obi-wan in secret but chose to become a librettist instead of a Jedi.
